Case Study: Visit Rush County Website

Version2 was approached by the Rush County board of Tourism about a website that would act as a hub for the variety of events and points of interest not just in Rushville, but for the entire county. They had big plans with lots of features and a six-week deadline. Tight deadlines and the ability to make easy updates made this project an ideal candidate for Squarespace. Thanks to the large font library available at Squarespace, we were able to use an exact match of the font recently incorporated into their new tourism logo for headlines and the navigation.

Thankfully a local photographer was part of the project so we had lots of great images to choose from. So many that we used an image carousel for the hero of the home page.

The main features of the site include an event’s calendar, collection of maps and local guides in PDF format, a business directory, and news feed.

The site design incorporated the existing color pallet from the logo and further emphasized the brand by incorporating elements from the logo throughout the site.

Notable modifications include navigation hover effects (which Squarespace says you can’t do) and a logo that breaks out of the top navigation to create more energy and increase the usable space of the page.
