Case Study: The Gifford Team

This project started out the way many do. The Gifford Team real estate group had a WordPress website that was starting to fall apart and have minor hacking issues. They liked their overall design and it was consistent with their current branding. Their main concerns were being able to integrate with their third-party services. They already had subscription services that they wanted to continue to use for listing management, 3D home tours, and blogging.

In order to keep the listings updated with their third party service, they were going to need to make updates themselves. That made Squarespace a great solution. The listing service even had specific instructions for a Squarespace setup. They were able to find markers in a blank page that allowed them to capture the design of the site and deliver pages in a consistent way.

We were able to integrate a ton of features into the site including a home value estimator, a mortgage calculator, and Facebook messaging.

Highlights of the production include:

  • Custom navigation rollovers and link placement
  • Customized header partitions to ensure logo visibility
  • Customized gold-gradient header borders
  • Customized menus that allow the main nav to act as both links and drop-down menus
  • Modified Gallery to act as a homepage slider
  • Custom icons

This was a great project and really demonstrated how flexible and extendable Squarespace is.
