There’s never been a better time to get into selling products online. There are so many options for shops of all sizes. But you need to find the right store to make your online venture a success.
As a startup or a young company, you don’t want to underestimate how difficult it can be to be found. If you start off in a marketplace like Amazon, Esty, or eBay, you’ve tackled one of the bigger problems of online retail already.
Squarespace has awesome built in eCommerce tools. If you’re looking for something stand alone and super-low cost, you might want to consider a Square online store. BTW, Squarespace and Square Online are completely different companies. It would be nice if there was a little more creativity in the names people give their companies. But I digress. Square Online is a feature of the Square payment processing and point of sale company. I’ve used Square for years and they’ve been great to work with. Their online store has a free option (they take a percentage of sales though) but it’s essentially a risk-free setup.
Beyond the easy options we’ll start talking about large inventories and/or large sales volume. Before we recommend a platform, we need to have a conversation about your specific needs in terms of transactions, fulfilment, logistics, etc. But don’t worry. There are more options now than there have ever been to do business online.
